Burcu Çakın
Burcu Çakın, founder of Coachzone, works with professional coaches as a trainer/mentor, with executives as a leadership coach, with top management teams as a team coach and with organizations as a facilitator and consultant. She is an ICF certified master coach (MCC), with over 3,500 hours of coaching experience, working with individuals and teams on change, growth and leadership. She supports executives aiming to improve their leadership skills, the presence they bring and impact they create in their environment, and management teams to increase positivity, efficiency, effectiveness, enhance dialogue and create an inclusive environment within the team.
Since 2010, as a Faculty Member in Adler Central Europe, Burcu has been training new professional coaches in Turkey and the Middle East. Furthermore, she is the Senior Associate for Pluribus, a global company focusing on diversity and inclusion, unconscious bias and inclusive leadership. She is also a licensed practitioner and coach for Global DISC, an assessment tool designed to measure cognitive diversity and blindspots, enabling teams to get the most out of personal and cultural differences and create synergy and psychological safety.
Besides, Burcu carries out programs on women’s leadership and empowerment, such as “Feminine Leadership in Action” that she offers to corporations for their women managers. She is a global faculty leader for “Coming Into Your Own”, a leadership program offered to women for over 25 years in the U.S. and since 2011 in Turkey. Furthermore, as a certified Council Guide, Burcu explores and disseminates earth-based teaching and traditions of Native Americans, namely Medicine Wheels of Delicate Lodge.
Prior to her coaching career, Burcu worked at the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC, as a Privatization and Private Sector Development Specialist, undertaking assignments in Jordan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Romania. Upon her return to Turkey, she joined Global Securities as Corporate Finance Manager, and managed the company’s privatization, merger and acquisition projects in the local market and in Bulgaria, Romania, Egypt, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. In her subsequent roles as Manager of Foreign Operations and then Director of Corporate Services, she assumed the responsibility of establishing and managing Global Securities’ international operations; and then creating the Group’s Human Resources function. After her tenure at Global Securities, Burcu became Country Manager for Turkey for Euro-Phoenix, a boutique corporate finance advisory firm with operations in Central and Eastern Europe. She established the company’s presence in Turkey, formed a team and initiated and managed various buy-side and sell-side advisory projects. Burcu then established her own business and finance advisory firm, Fora Corporate Finance, serving primarily to foreign private equity funds interested in Turkey.
Burcu holds a BA in Business Administration from Bosphorus University and an MBA from George Washington University. She is a mother of two young adults, whom she says, are her major teachers in life. As a way to honor her values of freedom, curiosity and self-development, Burcu enjoys traveling, reading and connecting with the nature and her inner world.
